FACE AND JAW SURGERY

Face and Jaw surgery may be performed to restore and enhance facial structure and function.

Face and jaw surgery may be required for a number of different reasons including the correction of congenital deformities, asymmetry and aesthetic concerns, or due to trauma.

Having complete function of your facial structure is very important for overall health and can also greatly affect your appearance.

Below are some of the face and jaw surgery procedures performed by Dr.Garg:

  • Cheek Augmentation - To enhance facial symmetry and provide balance to the facial structure

  • Corrective Jaw Surgery - Also known as Orthognathic surgery, is a common procedure performed to improve a person’s ability to chew and speak. Corrective jaw surgery is is performed to correct jaws that are too large, too small, too far forward, too far back or crooked. Not only does the surgery yield aesthetic benefits but has significant functional benefits too.

  • Chin Augmentation (Genioplasty) - To improve the appearance of the chin and jaw. Genioplasty is often performed at the same time as corrective jaw surgery in order to correct the alignment of a patients bite, and improve appearance and facial symmetry.

  • Upper Jaw Extension Surgery - To treat a narrow upper jaw prior to orthodontic treatment. Often referred to as Surgically Assisted Maxillary Expansion (SAME), upper jaw expansions surgery is performed to increase the size of the upper jaw after patients have finished growing and their jaw is too narrow to accommodate for their proposed orthodontic treatment.

  • Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Management Surgery - There are a number of different surgical options to help alleviate symptoms of obstructive sleep apnoea. Dr.Garg will discuss the most suitable and effective option during your consult.

The vide shows the use of computerised 3D modelling and virtual surgical planning allowing the surgeon to plan the surgery precisely on the computer and then replicate it onto the patient.
